The Parish Council is the lowest tier of local government. As such, we have responsibility for commenting on planning applications, and representing the interests of residents to bodies such as Lewes District Council, East Sussex County Council and the South Downs National Park. All members of the Council are committed to the preservation and enhancement of the parish, its delightful setting, and its mixed rural community. We welcome constructive comment, positive ideas, and practical suggestions from residents from all parts of the parish at any time.

Parish councillors are volunteers, each elected every four years or co-opted when vacancies arise.

Currently, council responsibilities are divided into the following main areas: planning, finance and staffing, Hollycroft grass and maintenance, communications, environment and community events.

We meet every two months at Beechwood Hall in Cooksbridge.

Members of the public are always welcome at meetings and questions from the public are invited at the start of each meeting.
